How colorful is your diet?

Eating "the rainbow" is a fundamental healthy eating habit. But why is it so important to get a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables in our diets?
A common practice in meal prepping is eating the same foods over and overs again. While there isn't anything wrong with this, per say, but the truth is our bodies flourish when given a variety. In order to promote optimal health we must consume a "rainbow" of nutrients and colors. Eating a diversity of colorful foods can be an easy way to get a complete range of the vitamins and minerals your body needs not only to survive, but to thrive.
